What You’ll Learn
The Rescue Diver course focuses on both self-rescue and assisting other divers. You’ll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents before they happen, and respond to diving emergencies calmly and effectively. Skills include managing panicked divers, assisting tired or unresponsive divers, conducting search patterns, and handling emergency situations both underwater and on the surface.

What to Expect in This Course
This course takes place over two days and includes academic review, confined water training, and open water rescue evaluations.Day 1 runs from approximately 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and begins with knowledge review and the final exam. Immediately after, you’ll move into a confined water environment to practice the first seven rescue scenarios. Using a controlled setting allows you to focus on mastering proper rescue techniques without added environmental stress.Day 2 runs from approximately 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM and takes place in the ocean from a boat. You’ll review all skills learned and complete final rescue scenario evaluations in real-world conditions. This day combines multiple skills into realistic rescue situations, testing both your physical ability and decision-making under pressure.

Requirements

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) • CPR/EFR/First Aid Certified – available concurrently if needed • Minimum age: 12 years old • Students under 18 require parent/guardian approval • Student record file and completed medical form required • Good physical condition and solid diving skills strongly recommended
